Have you ever wondered why there are many people who are successful and at the top of their professional game, while there are many who keep struggling to make both ends meet?
There are many people who are happy and blessed and many who are struggling with various mental disorders and feel depressed.
What makes people different from each other? What do successful people do to be better than others? What is the trick or the magic key to success and happiness?
We can search online and get thousands of results such as 5 great habits of successful people. We can learn how successful people make best use of their mornings by waking up early, meditating every day, reading good books, working hard, etc. But the big question is even after reading the blogs and books on habits of successful people, do we start following their routine? Do we sustain it for a long time?
The answer is no rocket science. It’s a big NO.
Now why is it that our mind knows what is right and yet we don’t follow it?
The answer to this question is simple too. We are slaves to our minds. The simple key to success is taking control of our minds. It starts with our determination, our will power to achieve the best and to strive for success.
Trick your mind
I read a term called “Analytical Training of Mind”in a book. It’s up to you to train your mind and take control of your life. Just the way we train our minds not to jump from heights and rather be safe, we need to train our minds or self discipline ourselves to achieve our best.
Train your mind to take calculated risks because originally, our minds are designed to keep us safe. Fear makes most of our decisions. We need to trick the mind for that microsecond where we are about to make life time decisions. We have to train our mind that going in a particular direction is the coolest and safest thing to do and not otherwise. When I say this, I also understand how difficult it is because I myself took hours looking at a screen with just about a 100 words on it before I resigned from my 15 years long job. It was a hard decision, I was to step out of my comfort zone that I had built in past more than a decade.
When we need to take a call we cannot complain, we cannot blame other people or fate for what we go through. It’s in these moments, we need to take control and that is the key to all success.
We need to outsmart our own brain. We need to play hide n seek and win from our own brain as it has a tendency to stop us. Go beyond your mind, take control and nail your ideas.
Lead your mind
Be the director instead of getting directed by your mind. Set your goals; self-discipline yourself. Do what you love, don’t be afraid of failures, stand up from the failure and give another shot. As it’s said, when you fall down seven times, stand up yet again. It’s your ability to bounce back that decides your success.
Be your own leader. Be that lion who wins over all his competitors in the jungle, even the ones who are physically stronger and mentally intelligent. Be that lion who treats himself as the king of the jungle…
